Herma Ardesch and Sunray art & design
In addition to being a graphic designer, Herma Ardesch is an artist and a musicologist. In 2024, she completed her studies in Musicology at the University of Amsterdam with honours, specialising in cognitive musicology.
Graphic design
Music plays a major role in her life and work. As a graphic designer, she often works for clients in the music sector. She designs logos and corporate identities for promotional purposes, such as posters, flyers, program books and CD packaging with an appealing appearance. The style can vary from modern and colourful to more subdued, but it is always stylish and appropriate for the message the client wishes to convey. Have a look at a few of her latest projects or at a small selection of the Sunray design portfolio; a few examples of Sunray book editions can be found here.
Art
As an artist, Herma also often finds inspiration in music. In her paintings you regularly come across musical elements or sometimes an entire musical landscape, which reflects her impression of a specific composition or a composer. She mainly paints in acrylics, sometimes combined with sand, jute or other materials on canvas or wooden constructions, which she saws out and constructs in such a way that depth is literally created.
She regularly exhibits her art work. You can find her most recent art here. For a slightly more extensive selection of her portfolio you can have a look here.
Musicologist
Herma uses her education as a musicologist in writing, editing or translating texts. She can also be employed for an introduction, presentation or article on a specific musical subject.
Sunray art & design
The mission of Sunray, the company in which Herma accommodates her work, is to shine a creative, loving little ray of sunshine in the lives of as many people as possible, great and small, far away and nearby.
